Responsibilities Of Intern:

  • The Social Media Intern will work with the External Affairs Team and report to the Communications and Digital Manager.
  • They will be responsible for creating and sharing social media content, contributing to content strategy, and analyzing content performance to promote the Museum’s work and enhance its brand.
  • Responsibilities include content creation, strategy development, and performance analysis.
  • Helping to manage and organize the Museum’s social media content schedule for various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn.
  • Presenting fresh concepts for creating content that showcases the Museum’s work and distinctive experience in creative ways through various digital platforms such as photography, audio, and video.
  • This involves taking and editing photos and videos, creating branded assets, and following the institution’s style guide.
  • Interacting with visitors and collaborating with brands/institutions on various platforms.
  • Keeping track of any mentions and tagged photos, and asking for permission to use any relevant assets and testimonials.
  • Keeping oneself informed about the current trends on various social media platforms.
  • Collecting and sharing performance data to guide decision-making. Assisting with administrative tasks upon request.
  • Completing any extra tasks as needed or directed.

Abilities and Expertise:

  • A strong interest in social media marketing, creating content, branding, communications, museums, or non-profit operations.
  • Past job experience in marketing environments.
  • Having prior experience in creating captivating videos for platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
  • Familiarity with basic editing of photos and videos using Adobe Suite software such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Having experience in creating visually appealing graphics for social media platforms using software like Adobe Illustrator or similar design tools, and showcasing a good understanding of design principles.
  • Having prior experience with social media management platforms is beneficial.
  • Having prior experience with a DSLR camera is beneficial.
  • Strong communication abilities in both written and verbal forms.
  • Extremely structured and capable of working independently.
  • Full of energy and excited to take on fresh projects and concepts.
  • Acting in a professional, responsible, and polite manner.
  • Able to effectively use G-Suite and other computer programs.
  • Applicants must be cleared through a criminal background check.
  • Individuals must have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine that is approved by the FDA.
