  • Housing and airfare are only provided to student teachers who have previous experience with Breakthrough Collaborative or Summerbridge Summer Program.
  • If you have no prior experience, you will need to pay for your plane tickets and housing, but they can help you find suitable housing.
  • Keep in mind that you may be eligible for scholarships at your school that can cover these expenses, as many student teachers have successfully received summer scholarships in the past.

Commitments of Intern:

  • This position requires a significant amount of time and effort.
  • The person must be present for the entire 8-week program, including training and evaluation.
  • Must be available Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with some Saturdays and public holidays included.
  • Additionally, the intern must spend time outside of the program to plan lessons and activities and get to know the staff and students.
  • Must speak English with the students at all times, both during the program and outside of it.
  • The person will be responsible for teaching two interactive lessons and one elective class daily for 5 weeks, as well as designing, implementing, and evaluating a curriculum for English language learners.
  • The intern will also evaluate the student’s work, the program, and their performance.
  • Must be a positive role model for the students.
  • Take part in an academic department and a committee to arrange a unique event.
  • Plan and coordinate unique events and activities during the summer months.
  • Leadership, motivation, responsibility, and a commitment to working with a diverse group of students and teachers are also required.

Last Date To Apply:

Hong Kong residents must apply by March 8, 2024, while non-HK residents with a valid passport must apply by February 23, 2024. If hired, additional time will be given to assist with visa processing. Applications are reviewed continuously, so it is recommended to apply early.
